Выжившая после стрельбы Тилиха Тернер впервые рассказала о трагедии, лишившей её дочери и мобильности

Magnolia Court shooting survivor speaks out for first time AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - More than five years after surviving a quadruple shooting, Tiliha Turner is speaking out for the first time. Tishaa Moulton and Latoya Oglesby were shot and killed inside an apartment. Tyler Prather was found guilty in their murders last year and received three life sentences. Turner was paralyzed in the shooting, leaving her with a long road to recovery. “Life has given me, thrown me a big curve ball and I can’t seem to get back on my feet,” Turner said. On May 13, 2021, gunfire inside Turner’s Magnolia Court apartment changed her life in seconds, taking her daughter, her mobility and her home. “I see her face every day,” Turner said. “I say a prayer to her every morning to her good morning in sign language. I say good night to her every night in sign language.” Turner is now paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair after a bullet wound to her abdomen led to years of surgeries. She now lives in a nursing home in Texas. “I wanted a chance to be normal,” Turner said. “I’m not normal still.” Turner said she hopes to reconnect with her grandchildren, find resources to heal and use her voice to help others. “I pray that the next 40 years will be the best of my years,” Turner said. That message is echoed in Richmond County, where Victim Witness Coordinator Adrienne Gaines said support for victims should not end when a case is closed. “I think that’s the biggest misconception, as we spoke to before, is that they think that the case is done, they don’t have to reach out to us, but that’s not the case at all. We always keep our door open if they need additional support,” Gaines said. The Solicitor General’s Office Victim Services Program is open to any survivor in need of help.
