HOWARD Lole has been appointed a director of Gas Resources Gigira Limited (GRGL) – representing the Tuguba region of the Petroleum Development License 1 (PDL 1), according to the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC). MRDC managing director Augustine Mano said the appointment followed the completion of the prescribed electoral process and a comprehensive review by the MRDC board. After due consideration and deliberation, the board was satisfied that all applicable legal, governance, and procedural requirements had been duly met. Lole was appointed by the shareholder – after an election held last month in Port Moresby resulted in a tie between Lole and Eric Kambe. The appointment concluded the two directorship requirement for the Tuguba representation to the board of GRGL. Lole is the second director from the Tuguba region to the GRGL Board. He joins Libe Parindali, Thompson Mugubigo, Philip Iruka, Thomas Dara Ola and Larry Andagali who are already on the GRGL board representing landowners. Mano said Lole came to the board with extensive experience in business, the oil and gas, and mining sector. “He is a well-respected leader in the industry who joins a board blessed with a wealth of experience which will add value to the governance and direction of the company going forward.” Lole has over 25 years’ experience in financial, industrial and mining sectors. He thanked Erick Kembe and his four supporters of clan chairmen from the Tuguba Block. “We should now move forward as a team and work together to bring about sustainable development outcomes for our eight Tuguba clans,” he said. “We must also combine forces with other elected Hides PDL 1 block directors and work with MRDC and all other relevant stakeholders to bring about sustainable legacies for the PDL 1 landowners and the greater Hides and Hela regions.” Lole is a director on the boards of Tolu Minerals Ltd, and the TWL Group. He holds a degree in mining engineering from the PNG University of Technology, and a master’s degree in engineering from the University of New South Wales, specialising in mining industry management.
