В Верноне состоится мировая премьера фильма о юных супергероях, созданного школьниками

Local film on youth superheroes to debut in Vernon on Friday evening Young superheroes in town What began as an idea by Max Calle in February during a Literacy Society of the North Okanagan class has grown into a film, Supergirl Challenge, that will have its world premiere in Vernon on Friday evening at the RISE Gymnastics Academy. The plot of the film, which was written by the students, is driven by the kidnapping of the daughter of three Supergirls by a pair of villains. Rehearsals began in March and filming commenced in June. “They learned the lines, they practiced, they filmed, they made mistakes, they tried again, they laughed and they created something together,” said Dominique Blanchard, skills boost coordinator at the Literacy Society. Arwa Shahzad Ahmed Khan not only created the background art but served as director and camera operator. Karina Finstand edited the footage and pieced the film together. A grant from Community Futures permitted the cast to outfit themselves in appropriate costumes. The premiere takes place at RISE Gymnatics Academy on Friday. Guests will enter via a red carpet at 5 p.m., where attendees can meet the young stars and enjoy some treats. The film screens an hour later at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited so pre-registration is required at eventbrite.ca.
