Local author releases first in Gutharrian Series Published 5:30 am Tuesday, September 1, 2026 Local writer and Wearable Art Show award-winner Janis Guthy has released her first book in a series: The Seven Realms of Gutharrian: Hairgarrian. Guthy started her creative journey many years ago dabbling in fine arts, costume making, set design, music and dance, and has now turned her art into stories. Including myth, mystery, and adventure, Hairgarrian is the beginning of a seven-book saga where every journey changes the traveller – and every realm reveals another truth about becoming. It begins when a young warrior’s sword shatters in battle and the Blue Queen places her own royal blade into his hands. Victory earns him an extraordinary reward: seven ancient monasteries, one in each of the Seven QueenDoms, and the right to forge a legacy bearing his own heraldry. His first destination is Hairgarrian – a realm where prophecy is hidden beneath a giant prayer wheel, mirrors reveal more than reflections, and a mysterious Wall of Eyes gazes beyond time itself. Guided by a white-haired child, the young warrior Lib begins a journey that will transform him into the Almighty Master, AM, and forever alter the fate of the Seven QueenDoms. In Hairgarrian, the Red Queen’s endlessly growing crimson hair fuels an empire, becoming the source of unimaginable wealth, power, and dependence. Beneath the glittering Red City, revolution brews. A two-faced steward, a wandering Bag Lady carrying seven enchanted bags, gifted bakers, winged roogons, hybrid creatures, underwater realms, forgotten love, and the haunting passage of lost decades all weave together in a story where every choice echoes through time. The book is available in three formats. Read more and order by searching “Janis Guthy” on Amazon.ca.
