Туристическое агентство Ватерфорда запустило семь готовых маршрутов для семейных поездок

With summer entering its final weeks, a collection of seven ready-made itineraries designed to help families and visitors get the very most out of the county before the season winds down, has been launched by Visit Waterford, and includes the heritage town of Lismore and the River Blackwater. Waterford’s ‘One Day Adventures’ offer tourists a range of experiences, ranging from street art and whiskey tastings in Waterford City to cliff walks, sea swimming, Greenway cycling and monastic history along the coast, all itineraries showcasing the breadth of experiences on offer across Waterford, all mapped out for an easy, unforgettable day trip. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Each itinerary follows a simple morning-to-evening structure, pairing an activity with a place to eat and a suggestion for how to finish the day, taking the guesswork out of planning and leaving more time for enjoying the adventure itself. Under ‘Heritage & River Adventure’, tourists are encouraged to explore Lismore’s heritage sites before a cruise or self-drive boat trip on the River Blackwater. Other options on the One Day Adventures include ‘Mountains to Greenway’, pairing a mountain walk in the Comeraghs with cycling on the Waterford Greenway and dinner in Dungarvan’s Culinary Quarter; ‘Harbour Adventure’ at Dunmore East Adventure Centre; ‘The Family Seaside Adventure’, bringing together the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens, a family session at Splashworld and a relaxed evening on the Tramore seafront; ‘Cliffs, Geology & Bunmahon’, a scenic journey along the Copper Coast taking in coastal walks, local art and the region’s mining heritage, as well as ‘Saints, Cliffs & Sea’, discovering Ardmore’s ancient monastic site, walking the signed cliff walk and finishing with a seaweed bath or traditional music session. SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE Speaking about the itinerary launch, Visit Waterford chairperson, Clare Barrett, said the itineraries were designed with all types of visitors in mind. “Waterford has so much to offer, from our coastline and mountains to our history and food scene, and these ‘One Day Adventures’ make it easy for families and visitors to experience the best of it in a single day. With summer drawing to a close, we’d encourage everyone to get out and explore before the season ends. There’s an adventure here for every kind of visitor.” The One Day Adventures are designed to be flexible, allowing visitors to adjust activities and timings to suit the pace of their group, the weather and the ages of those travelling. Visit Waterford is encouraging families, couples and groups of friends to pick an itinerary and make a day of it while the summer weather holds.
