Ветеран Вьетнамской войны в Лексингтоне получил сплит-систему от местной компании после недели без кондиционера

Lexington veteran receives donated heat pump after week without AC LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Vietnam veteran near Woodford Park in Lexington received a donated heat pump after going a week without air conditioning. Jack DuArte, an author and Vietnam veteran, spends his afternoons near Woodford Park with his miniature horse, Darleigh, meeting people who stop by their front lawn. “She’s an incredible pet and she has legions of people who love her who bring her food. It’s wonderful how the people around here have her heart,” DuArte said. DuArte and Darleigh went without air conditioning for a week. Three-Sixty Heating and Air spent two days working on the system before determining the 15-year-old unit had reached its lifespan. The owners of Three-Sixty had an idea after hearing about DuArte’s situation. “We are donating a heat pump to Jack with that we’re giving him a 12 year no hassle warranty so if anything happens to go wrong with it in the first 12 years, it’s going to be completely taken care of by us,” said Peter Wilkins, owner of Three-Sixty Heating and Air. “We’re truly just here to help good people in need. We are locally owned and operated, as I mentioned, and to help someone in the community means a lot to us, and that’s what we’re trying to do here,” Wilkins said. DuArte said the gift resolved a difficult situation. “I think I’m one of the most fortunate people in the world. There’s certain things you can do in life and certain things you can’t, and this was one that I was going to have to put on the back burner for a long time, and all of a sudden, these wonderful people have provided me with a comfortable way to last out the summer,” DuArte said.
