Старшеклассник из Кингстона стал первым национальным офицером организации FCCLA

Kingston senior elected national FCCLA officer Kooper Walker is the first member from Kingston to earn national title KINGSTON, Okla. (KXII) - Kingston High School senior Kooper Walker is now a national officer for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, or FCCLA. “It makes me really proud to know that yes, we might come from a small town but we’re just as big and just as good as some of the bigger schools,” Walker said. FCCLA is a student organization focused on family and helping young people build real-world skills. Walker joined in eighth grade. “I was like ‘Ooh this is a cooking class, so I’m going to join it and learn how to cook.’ So, I joined it and I was kind of like, ‘Oh, this is a little more than a cooking class,’” Walker said. Inspired to lead At his first meeting, Walker said he was inspired to lead. “I got to see the state officers really shining on stage and I was like, ‘I wonder if I could do something like that one day,’” Walker said. Since then, he has climbed the ladder from chapter representative to state vice president. This year he pushed for a national seat. After months of resume building, testing and interviews, he became one of just 10 national officers and Kingston’s first. “To finally obtain that goal that I’ve been reaching for my entire journey in FCCLA was just super monumental for me,” Walker said. “I am extremely proud. It’s extremely fulfilling to watch him accomplish that goal and to represent Oklahoma on the national level,” said Heather Henson, Kingston FCCLA advisor. Future plans Walker is heading to Oklahoma State University to study political science. “Whether that’s hopefully running for governor of Oklahoma one day or president. No matter where it takes me, just being that positive face that everybody sees when they look to that side of things and just being a good guy all around,” Walker said. Copyright 2026 KXII.
