Kena Outdoor станет официальным партнером джазового фестиваля Standard Bank Joy of Jazz 2026 в Йоханнесбурге

As official out-of-home media partner, Kena Outdoor is carrying the energy of Standard Bank Joy of Jazz across Johannesburg, turning strategically placed visibility into anticipation, audience connection and cultural influence. Standard Bank Joy of Jazz does not begin only when musicians step onto the stage. Across Johannesburg, the experience is already taking shape along the routes, business districts and cultural hubs where audiences encounter the festival in their everyday movement. Now in its 27th year, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz has grown from an intimate gathering of approximately 1,800 attendees in 2000 into a major cultural event attracting more than 25,000 festivalgoers. The 2026 edition returns to the Sandton Convention Centre, bringing internationally acclaimed artists, South African jazz legends and emerging talent together across four stages. The line-up includes Angelique Kidjo, Kamasi Washington, Thandiswa Mazwai, Judith Sephuma, Ibrahim Maalouf, McCoy Mrubata, Floetry and Nomfusi, alongside 2026 Standard Bank Young Artist Award recipients Gabi Motuba and Manana. As the official out-of-home media partner for Standard Bank Joy of Jazz 2026, Kena Outdoor is carrying the festival beyond the Sandton Convention Centre and into the wider rhythm of the city. Strategically placed digital and static media are building recognition and anticipation ahead of the festival on 25 and 26 September 2026. When presence becomes cultural influence A well-built partnership can become a platform that lives before, during and after the event. For Kena Outdoor, the opportunity is not simply to display the Joy of Jazz campaign, but to create a visible and culturally relevant presence around one of South Africa's leading music festivals. The partnership brings Kena Outdoor's brand promise, Visibility That Moves Brands, to life. In this context, movement is more than physical travel through the city. It is the movement of attention, the growth of audience interest and the progression from seeing the festival message to feeling invited into the experience. "Out-of-home media does more than announce that an event is coming. It creates anticipation, places culture in the public imagination and invites people to become part of something shared," says Mahlatse Kekana, general manager at Kena Outdoor. "We are proud to carry the energy of Standard Bank Joy of Jazz across Johannesburg and support a platform that celebrates African excellence, cultural heritage and the voices shaping the future of jazz." Visibility designed to move Kena Outdoor's evolution from Inventory to Influence provides the strategic foundation for the partnership. Inventory is the physical asset, but influence is created through the relationship between location, audience, context and timing. Each billboard or screen therefore has a role within the broader audience journey rather than functioning as an isolated display. Audience intelligence helps determine where the campaign appears and what each environment contributes. Sandton places the festival message within the business, retail and hospitality precinct that will host the event. Soweto extends the campaign into communities central to Johannesburg's cultural life. Together, the placements connect different parts of the city through a shared festival story. This approach turns strategically located inventory into points of cultural influence. Corridors carry the message with commuters, hubs connect culture and commerce, and selected sites operate as a sequence that builds familiarity rather than a collection of disconnected placements. The city plays jazz Jazz is built through structure, timing and improvisation. The same principles can be seen in an effective out-of-home campaign: routes create rhythm, media sites become notes and the city becomes the arrangement through which attention builds. Kena Outdoor's role is therefore not simply to carry the festival's message, but to help set its tempo across Johannesburg. That idea is captured in the campaign platform: Before the first note is played, the city already knows the music is coming. It positions out-of-home as the medium that arrives early, creates public anticipation and allows the festival to become part of the city's cultural atmosphere before audiences enter the venue. Before, during and after the first note Before the festival, outdoor media builds anticipation through artist storytelling, activations and curated jazz events, with visibility carried along relevant routes. During the festival, selected sites can support movement into and around the precinct while social coverage, content capture and stakeholder amplification bring the city and venue experience together. The wider Road to the Festival programme makes this audience journey tangible. Jazz 4 Young People, Ignite Her Soul, JazzWise, Jazzing Around, Free the Jazz, the Media Junket, B2B Connect and the Jazzy Joburg Market engage young creatives, women, jazz audiences, artists, media, industry professionals and entrepreneurs at different moments. For Kena Outdoor, these cultural touchpoints create opportunities to build visibility beyond the festival weekend. After the final performance, the partnership continues through recap content, artist stories, audience moments and campaign results. This extended approach allows the cultural and commercial value of the partnership to outlive the event itself. Six connected channels support the campaign: Out-of-home, public relations, social media, client experiences, internal communications and content capture. Together, they turn visibility into connection and connection into influence. Kena Outdoor will continue to amplify the road to Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, carrying the spirit of #JazzReIgnited across Johannesburg and demonstrating how Visibility That Moves Brands can turn a media partnership into a lasting point of cultural influence.
