Эксперт заявил, что Индианаполис процветает вопреки, а не благодаря мэру Хогсетту

Indianapolis is thriving due to factors outside of Mayor Hogsett's influence, not because of his leadership. Hogsett has undermined local developers and job creators, rather than supporting them. Republicans have failed to field viable candidates against Hogsett, surrendering the city's leadership. Joe Hogsett Flirting With 4th Term Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett is eyeing a potential fourth term in office, but Tony Katz says any claim of mayoral success is complete fiction — arguing the Circle City is thriving solely “in spite” of City Hall’s bungling leadership.  Hogsett recently signaled to the  Indianapolis Business Journal  that he is delaying a decision on whether to launch a 2027 reelection campaign until after the upcoming midterms, citing unfinished business with 16 months left on his clock. While three Democrats — state Sen. Andrea Hunley, City-County Councilor Vop Osili, and Department of Public Works administrator David Bride — are already circling the primary, Katz scoffed at the notion that Hogsett has earned another four years.  “The growth of the city happens regardless of the mayor,” Katz argued, noting that any national dip in crime has nothing to do with the Hogsett administration. “Indianapolis is still fantastic and special, all in spite of him.”  Katz pointed directly to Hogsett’s hostile handling of local private investment, notably the administration’s messy showdown with Ersal Ozdemir and the Keystone Group over the planned Indy Eleven soccer stadium at the historic Diamond Chain site. Rather than backing local job creators revitalizing downtown properties like the InterContinental, the mayor abruptly undermined the effort to pursue alternative Major League Soccer bids.  “That is one guy and his team rebuilding a landscape, a skyline. Not you, Joe Hogsett,” Katz pointed out, slamming City Hall for turning its back on homegrown developers who refuse to give up on the city.  Yet the blame doesn’t rest squarely on Democrats. Katz took aim at Indiana Republicans for completely surrendering municipal elections in the state’s largest economic engine, recalling a blunt exchange with former state GOP Chairman Kyle Hupfer over the party’s refusal to field viable candidates in Marion County.  “Republicans have still not found anybody to run against him,” Katz said. “You just gave up the capital city. What kind of putz does that?”  For Katz, Indianapolis already possesses the cultural and economic muscle to claim the mantle of “the capital of the Midwest” over crumbling metros like Chicago — provided local government stops stepping on its own feet.  “Indianapolis grows in spite of its terrible leadership,” Katz said. “Can you imagine what this place could be with some actual visionary leadership and a willingness to prosecute bad guys and get homeless people off the streets? If we had leadership that did just the basics, my gosh, this place would be unstoppable.”  Hear Tony Katz break it down live weekdays on WIBC 93.1 FM, or catch the full segment on-demand.   Listen to the “Joe Hogsett Flirting With 4th Term” discussion in full here:     Today’s Popcorn Moment: The white liberal women jurors from Lindsay Clancy trial speak out    Listen to the Show in Full here:      Watch the show here:    Don’t miss a minute of Tony Katz and the Morning News.
