Гренада готовит запуск агентства цифровой трансформации и проведет форум для ускорения технологического развития региона

Grenada is poised to strengthen its position as a Caribbean digital and technology hub, with Island Innovators bringing together innovators and local and regional stakeholders to help move digital transformation conversations from ideas to action. “Island Innovators is about connecting the people, ideas, institutions and opportunities that can move our region forward. We believe in what happens when the right people are connected around the right opportunities — and our role is to help turn those connections into meaningful action. Grenada is our home and headquarters and, while Island Innovators is here to make a regional impact, we are passionate about moving the conversation around transformation to action here,” said Brendan Heyck, Co-founder of Island Innovators. Island Innovators’ Gold Economy Digital & Tech Leadership Assembly, taking place on 10 September at The Flying Fish at Mount Cinnamon, will bring together ICT visionaries, entrepreneurs, enterprise executives, investors, policymakers and institutional leaders to explore ideas and opportunities emerging from Grenada’s digital transformation agenda. The company has previously hosted a Blue Economy Action Lab which attracted over 30 leaders and led to a range of actions, including strategic partnerships and financial investments. The assembly, in partnership with Grenadian firms Sonover and Metarelic, and regional partners Caribbean Digital Finance Alliance, is taking place during an important time, as Grenada advances plans for the launch of its Digital Transformation Agency. The assembly will serve to highlight actionable pathways for integrating digital infrastructure into the national economic engine. Island Innovators therefore views the assembly as much more than a forum for discussion. It is a platform for connection, collaboration and opportunity creation, bringing the right people together around opportunities that can have practical impact for Grenada and the wider Caribbean. Island Innovators has made other regional advances and is actively creating linkages in Trinidad and Barbados. The company is slated to partake in an upcoming Innovation Summit in St Lucia — and the CEO of Obtronics, the summit’s host, will be in attendance at the Grenada Assembly. “A stronger digital ecosystem can create new avenues for entrepreneurship, investment, innovation, skills development, regional collaboration and international partnerships, while strengthening Grenada’s ability to participate in the next generation of Caribbean economic growth,” Heyck said. With its digital transformation agenda gaining momentum, Grenada and those who call Grenada home have an opportunity to utilise Island Innovators and this inaugural assembly to shape not only how technology is adopted, but how it can contribute to economic development. “Grenada has a very real opportunity to be more than a participant in the Caribbean’s digital transformation,” Heyck added. “It can be a place where ideas are tested, partnerships are formed, and opportunities are developed. That is the kind of ecosystem we want to help build. The gathering is about tangible capability mapping and leveraging our collective capacity as part of the Shared Success Network,” he further explained. The 10 September gathering will strongly focus on the relationships, partnerships and opportunities that can emerge from bringing these select stakeholders together, with the intention of creating a stronger pipeline for collaboration beyond the event itself.
