Subscribe Now INvets has named retired U.S. Marine Corps First Sergeant Roy Martin as its new CEO, the organization announced Tuesday. He will lead the Indianapolis nonprofit’s statewide efforts to support veterans and military families. “Indiana has an extraordinary opportunity to become the destination of choice for veterans and military families beginning their next chapter,” Martin said in a press release. “Our work is about more than helping someone find a job. It is about connecting talented people with employers that need them and communities where they can build careers, raise families and put down roots.” Martin brings 20 years of active military service to the role, including six deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East. He previously worked for INvets as manager of outreach and partnerships after retiring from the Marine Corps in December 2024. In that role, he built nearly 100 new employer partnerships across Indiana. Following his work at INvets, Martin joined the Indiana Economic Development Corp. in a business retention and expansion role. Kristal Painter, chair of the INvets board of directors, said Martin’s experience gives him a unique view on the organization’s mission. “He understands the perspective of the transitioning service member, the talent needs of Indiana businesses, and the broader economic vision of our state,” Painter said. “We are thrilled to welcome him back to lead INvets.” INvets is a nonprofit organization based in Indianapolis that works with state agencies, economic development organizations and private employers to connect veterans and military families with career opportunities, community networks and resources across Indiana.
