One of such practices is NONA Creation Studio, founded by architect Collins Chukwuma and experiential designer Olutayo Osunsanya, which advocates an integrated approach to architecture, design strategy, visualisation and commercial thinking. The studio describes its approach as “Creation Intelligence,” bringing architecture, interior design, visualisation, branding and strategic thinking into a single creative process. According to the founders, many developments are still handled as separate professional services, often resulting in fragmented delivery, unnecessary redesigns and projects that fail to achieve their full potential. “We founded NONA on a simple belief: the quality of any development is determined long before construction begins,” the founders said, stressing the need to align architecture, strategy, human experience and perception from the outset. Central to the studio’s philosophy is Design Intelligence, which integrates architecture, commercial strategy, construction thinking, human experience and market perception into project decisions. The studio also applies Perception Engineering to ensure that a project’s value and intent are communicated as deliberately as they are designed. With Nigeria’s rapid urban growth, NONA said the conversation around development must move beyond aesthetics to include identity, sustainability, experience and long-term value. The studio’s philosophy, captured in the principle “Nothing Accidental,” reflects its belief that successful developments should be the result of deliberate and coordinated decisions rather than chance. NONA said it hopes to contribute to a stronger Nigerian design culture where developments are recognised not only for how they look, but for the quality of thinking behind them.
