With 16 stations and numerous live demonstrations, the Open Week at Laempe’s production site focused on innovations that are actively shaping the transformation of the foundry industry. There was particularly strong interest in the new 3D printing technology centered on the L3D-200 printer, which had been awarded the Hugo Junkers Prize by the state of Saxony-Anhalt just a few days earlier. Visitors were able to see the system in live operation and discuss applications, potential, and future uses with the development team. Two L3D-200 units were on display at the site; both have already been sold.
L3D-200 – one of the most powerful industrial 3D printers in the world
The L3D-200, which Laempe developed for the industrial mass production of sand cores and sand molds, is one of the most powerful solutions of its kind worldwide. The printer enables highly automated and cost-effective production of complex cores and molds for modern cast components. Its speed, process stability, and scalability make the system particularly attractive to industrial users, suppliers, and foundries. Such systems are already in use today at the BMW Group, among others. “Open Week demonstrated what Laempe stands for: innovative strength, strong partnerships, and a team that turns ideas into solutions. Personal interaction with our customers and partners is just as important to us as the development of new technologies,” says Managing Director André Klimm.
The program was complemented by a wide range of additional solutions in the areas of automation, service and spare parts, retrofitting, digitalization, and traditional core manufacturing. On display were various core shooting machines in nearly all sizes and for different process technologies, intended for customers worldwide. In addition, Laempe presented automation solutions for global customer projects, including those for wind turbine manufacturer Enercon and Schuberth, a leading manufacturer of motorcycle helmets. Various digitalization solutions for process monitoring, data analysis, and efficiency improvement rounded out the program.
