Художник-сикх Inkquisitive принял участие в круглом столе в 10 Downing Street

The artist said his work had often been at the forefront of raising awareness British Sikh artist Inkquisitive was invited to 10 Downing Street, where his artwork ‘King Without A Crown’, depicting the 10th Sikh Guru, was featured. The artist attended the first ‘Roundtable’ focused specifically on the Sikh community. The event brought together a select group of Sikh leaders from corporate spaces, entrepreneurship, media, television, the arts and wider areas of influence. The gathering also included representatives from No.10 and government ministers, with discussions focusing on the Sikh community and its experiences across Britain. For Inkquisitive, the invitation represented a significant moment in his career and went beyond the annual Vaisakhi and Diwali celebrations held at Downing Street. The Roundtable provided an opportunity to discuss personal contributions, challenges faced within different sectors, and ways the government and faith communities could work more closely. Inkquisitive’s artwork ‘King Without A Crown’ was present at Downing Street during the discussions and was also featured in presentation slides shared as part of the event. The artist has previously used his artwork to raise awareness of issues affecting the Sikh community and highlight injustices through his creative work. His presence at the Roundtable therefore provided an opportunity to discuss the role of art in representing Sikh experiences and raising awareness of wider community concerns. According to Inkquisitive, the discussions came at a significant time, particularly amid concerns surrounding a rise in anti-Sikh hostility. He highlighted the impact of the murders of Henry Nowak and Kirandeep Kaur, which he said had created further concern within the Sikh community. The artist said his work had often been at the forefront of raising awareness around such tragedies and standing against injustice. He described the Roundtable as a solution-driven conversation and expressed hope that it would become the beginning of a healthier and more culturally appreciative space. Inkquisitive also reflected on being recognised as a leader in the arts and having his viewpoints heard by representatives from No.10. The invitation carried additional personal significance for the artist, who described London as his home. Interestingly, the invitation arrived on the same day his World Tour ended, which Inkquisitive described as a moment of fate and destiny. Reflecting on the experience, he spoke about seeing the heritage and history associated with 10 Downing Street. Having his artwork depicting the 10th Sikh Guru present at such a significant location added another layer of meaning to the occasion. For Inkquisitive, the visit represented not only a personal career milestone, but also an opportunity to contribute to conversations about Sikh representation, community concerns and the role of the arts.
