NexGen. Losses attributed to divestment of NexGen and strategic move to pure MSSP play.
Infotrust has delivered financial year (FY) 2026 growth of 9.8 per cent to $64.1 million, despite undergoing a significant strategic transformation that includes the divestment of NexGen and the acquisition of Catalyst Cyber.
Its gross margin increased 6.6 per cent to $46.9 million, while underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (uEBITDA) declined 20.3 per cent to $2.7 million.
Although earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) improved to a $2.7 million loss, compared with a $4.5 million loss in FY25
However, the MSSP reported a statutory loss of $23.1 million for FY26. That figure includes $19.85 million disposal-related loss on NexGen.
On a continuing operations basis, the loss after tax was $7.83 million, compared with a restated loss of $7.41 million in FY25.
According to Infotrust’s statement to the ASX, NexGen contributed a profit after income tax of $4.58 million for the period from 1 July 2025 to 31 March 2026, compared with $6.03 million for the year ended 30 June 2025.
This excludes the $19.85 million loss associated with its remeasurement to fair value less costs to sell and subsequent disposal.
For Infotrust the divestment of its NexGen cloud and communications business left Infotrust focused solely on cyber security and digital resilience.
Although the divestment helped to balance its sheet through the divestment of NexGen for up to $50 million in cash, It also helped to simplify its operating model to create a leaner, more scalable organisation.
It further strengthened that strategy in April this year, through the acquisition of Canberra-based Catalyst Cyber. This strengthened Infotrust’s position in the federal government market.
Catalyst contributed $2.1 million in revenue and approximately $0.5 million in profit after tax during its first ten weeks within the group.
The investment into cyber security capabilities to reinforces it as the core for Infotrust, it said in an investor presentation.
In its presentation to investors, the MSSP said “FY26 completed Infotrust’s strategic reset, a focused, cyber-first business with a materially strengthened balance sheet and a clear pathway to profitable growth.”
“This is the strongest financial position the company has held in recent years, and it funds FY27 without returning to the market,” said Infotrust.
Infotrust expects more than $6 million in underlying EBITDA in FY27, compared with $2.7 million in FY26.
The MSSP also refreshed its leadership this year, bringing in a new CEO and CFO to capitalise on cyber security growth opportunities.
