New Delhi [India], August 27 (ANI): India participated in the Russian-Indian Roundtable Meeting on Snow Leopard Study and Conservation, held on Wednesday at the AN Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia. The meeting was organised within the framework of the Partnership Agreement between the Interregional Association 'Irbis' and the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), which was signed in December 2025. The agreement aims to strengthen international cooperation in snow leopard research and conservation. During the meeting, the delegation from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) highlighted the country's progress in the field of snow leopard conservation through evolving science-based initiatives. Officials from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) presented developments in snow leopard population estimation, radio telemetry and genetic analysis.
