Владельцы Honda Ridgeline сообщают о реальном расходе топлива от 18 до 30 миль на галлон

Have you ever wondered what a Honda Ridgeline gets in terms of fuel economy? Is it better or worse than the EPA’s listing of 18 mpg city and up to 24 mpg highway? Let’s take a look. What Honda Ridgeline Owners Are Saying This simple question by a Facebook user started it off: “Ridgeline owners, what are you actually getting for fuel economy? I’m curious about real-world numbers rather than the advertised MPG. What are you getting in city driving, highway driving, and mixed driving? Also, does your mileage change significantly when carrying a load or towing?” The replies from Honda Ridgeline owners came in fast and furious. As always, we’ve edited them for content, grammar, and clarity. One hasn’t checked yet - their truck is still too new. “I’ve had so many gas hogs before this I never really have looked at it. I’m just excited I’m not putting gas in it every couple of days. I’ve only had it since June.” Another was pretty straightforward, seeing numbers pretty close to the EPA rating: “21 city 24 highway.” They weren’t the only person getting in that range. Yet another piped up: “21.5 mpg - mix of hwy and city.” Another got a lot more detailed: “These trucks love staying under 70mph on the highway. And they love a soft touch to the gas pedal. I can get 30 on the highway under perfect conditions... and 25+ in mixed driving. My overall average after almost 30k miles is 25+. Try eco mode for one tank. You'll hate it, but the MPGs will make you smile. Pulling a small travel trailer (2k pounds or so), I'm under 20. But the thing is a sail in the wind! A shorter pop-up camper delivers low 20.” Others were busy on road trips or doing a lot of highway driving: “My best is 31 mpg all highway sitting between 65 and 70. Through mixed driving for the last 700 miles - a gentle foot and eco mode I average 26.2mpg!” “I’m on a vacation. We left Florida to Detroit, across Canada to Maine and my average is 26mpg.” Some weren’t pulling numbers quite that high. “18-20 with AT tires and a canopy,” wrote one, while another was in a similar boat. “I get 18. I have a lot of short in-town trips.” In those cases, the lower numbers are understandable. All-terrain tires and/or possible drag created by a canopy could reduce fuel economy. We also know that constant in-town trips aren’t very fuel efficient, regardless of the vehicle. We could list replies all day, but we’ll end with this one: “I have a 2024 Sport. I average 22ish in mixed driving. Highway mpg gets close to 26 mpg. I pull a pop up tent trailer with a lot of camping stuff in the back (my wife is the queen of over packing 😜) I get 19-21 mpg on average. My 2012 Frontier averaged 17 mpg mixed driving. I think for a V6, awd vehicle in that size class it does [reasonably] good.” As Always, It Depends On How You Drive Fuel-economy numbers in the real world depend a lot on how you drive. If you have a heavy right foot, often engage in jack-rabbit starts, or fail to use cruise control, you might have lower fuel-economy numbers. So, too, if you do most of your driving around town - it’s simply not as fuel-efficient as heavy highway cruising is. Towing or using the bed to carry heavy on a frequent basis will also hurt fuel-economy numbers. Extra weight and extra demand on the engine will result in fuel being gulped more than sipped. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) performs a test to come up with the numbers that you see on a window sticker, but that test’s conditions aren’t the same as real-world conditions. So if you have a leadfoot or a light foot, that could impact your fuel mileage. So, too, could traffic, weather, and so forth and so on. Hopefully you now have a better insight into the miles per gallon being achieved by actual Honda Ridgeline owners. Images: Honda media.
