Independent media agency Hatched has promoted Paul Wilkinson to national head of investment as he steps up to oversee the newly formed national investment team. With 25 years’ experience across the UK and Australia, working at both hold co and independent agencies, Wilkinson joined Hatched in 2023. For the past three years, he has held a dual role as a client partner, overseeing several of the agency’s key clients, while acting as head of investment for the Melbourne office. The agency’s overall billings have increased from $100m to $150m in the past three years, creating a need for a national team to manage investment. Wilkinson takes on the role, leading a fully dedicated team of five spanning all five client “nests” across the agency’s Melbourne and Sydney offices. Of the promotion, hatched chief operating officer, Adrian Roeling, said: “Since joining Hatched, Paul has elevated our investment product, HatchedInvest, immensely. We’re stoked to deservedly promote him into this position. Investment isn’t just about buying power anymore; it’s about building the systems, partnerships and data infrastructure that turn media spend into true business growth. Paul and his team will ensure Hatched clients realise this growth.” Wilkinson said on his appointment: “In the last three years, HatchedInvest has advanced to meet changing client requirements as we continue to adopt new technologies and tailor our approach to the ever-developing trading environment. HatchedInvest is transparent, built bottom-up and always bespoke for clients. We never miss the opportunity to extend into barter or media value, and we have strong audit capabilities. “With my sole remit now being investment, and an exceptional team beside me, I’m focused on driving growth through future-facing investment systems built around data, partnerships and, most importantly, human connection.” Reporting to Wilkinson, the national investment team includes investment directors Emily Capsis and Victoria Camilleri, as well as senior investment managers Sharna McIntyre and Ben Liebman and client solutions director and investment manager Liam Brian.
