Руководство Handtmann объявляет о стратегической трансформации в 360-градусного поставщика решений для автопрома

Seeing Transformation as an Opportunity Accordingly, Dirk Seckler, Co-CEO of Handtmann Leichtmetallguss und Systemtechnik, delivered a presentation titled “Transformation as an Opportunity: Achieving Success Through Strategy and Innovation.” In it, he highlighted how Handtmann leverages strong strategic guidelines to navigate volatile market conditions and technological changes. At the same time, he addressed the increasing competitive pressure and emphasized the relevance of three core principles at Handtmann: optimizing the value chain, targeted profitability growth, and consistent customer value were decisive factors in the company’s strategic direction. In this way, the company is successfully preparing for widespread uncertainties and the profound changes in the automotive and supplier industries. At the same time, attention was drawn to the question of how innovation can be effectively implemented along the entire value chain. A review of the market reveals that approximately 40 percent of total value creation in this area has not yet been addressed; instead, a large portion of investments is directed toward mechanical machining and casting. Handtmann concluded from this that it must take a more comprehensive view of existing innovation potential—ranging from process expertise and product development to new business models.   The Handtmann Light Performance Wheel A concrete example was also presented at the Design Talk: the Light Performance Wheel. This aluminum wheel was manufactured using die-casting and demonstrates how a high degree of design freedom and technological expertise, combined with tangible customer benefits, can be brought together to create a marketable innovation. Using conventional manufacturing methods, the thin-walled components and complex geometries would have been very difficult to produce. Topology optimization and functional integration enable targeted design based on load paths and reduce material usage. In addition, the weight was reduced by up to 30% compared to conventional aluminum wheels. At the same time, the die-cast aluminum wheel offers further advantages: potential for CO₂ reduction, increased range for electric vehicles, and improved driving dynamics. The Handtmann Light Performance Wheel thus exemplifies the strategic transformation of Handtmann Leichtmetallguss into a 360° solution provider. The focus is on expertise across the entire customer value chain and has moved away from a purely “built-to-print” approach.  “For us, transformation means not waiting for the future to happen but actively shaping it. It is crucial to consistently align innovation with customer value, rethink value creation, and invest strategically where sustainable competitive advantages arise.” – Dirk Seckler, Co-CEO of Handtmann Light Metal Casting and Systems Engineering   About Handtmann Unternehmensgruppe  The Handtmann Group is a globally active technology company in the manufacturing industry with approximately 4,700 employees, 3,300 of whom are based at its headquarters in Biberach an der Riß, Germany.
