The Tokyo-based company aims to use the Hakuhodo DY Group's consumer-centered planning approach and creativity to help co-create new social models in areas related to extending healthy life expectancy. It also seeks new partnership and joint-project opportunities with startups, corporations and venture capital firms tied to the field. Hakuhodo DY Holdings positions incubation businesses as one of the growth options in its current medium-term management plan and has been working with external partners to create new industries with social impact. Longevity is one of the areas it is focusing on, citing advances in aging research alongside rapid progress in artificial intelligence. ASAGI Labs describes the consortium as a co-creation platform aimed at building a new social model that combines individual life design based on personal narratives with wider social well-being. It cites progress in aging research, AI-driven integration of multimodal information and the shift toward what it calls a multi-stage life as the backdrop for the initiative. The consortium's activities are organized around three principles: longevity, narrative and multi-stage life. Participants including academia, companies, local governments, hospitals, clinics and nonprofit organizations work on research and development, business co-creation, information dissemination and policy proposals. ASAGI Labs was established in July 2024. The foundation promotes basic research aimed at controlling aging at the cellular and molecular level and seeks to generate innovations that contribute to extending healthy life expectancy.
