Сборная Папуа-Новой Гвинеи впервые отправит женскую команду на международные квалификационные турниры по киберспорту

PAPUA New Guinea Esports Association will field both men’s and women’s teams in the upcoming Oceania Regional Qualifiers on Aug 22, with matches played online in each country before the finals in Los Angeles later this year. The qualifiers pit PNG gamers against opponents from Australia, New Zealand and Guam. For the first time, PNG’s women’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang national team will compete internationally, aiming to secure a place in December’s finals in Los Angeles. The women’s squad features Geum Jandi, Senorita, Twinseafood1, Link, Smokie.911 and Sister Hong. The men’s team includes Jie Ant, Stiggz, Troy6964, Cocoa, Orchisenju and Lavea, returning to the Oceania stage after three years. PNG Esports president Peter Bray said the qualifiers mark a milestone for the association, which has rapidly grown since its establishment. “The women’s team will make their first appearance on the international stage, while the men return after three years. It shows how far esports has come in PNG,” Bray said. PNG Esports is a non profit body dedicated to advancing competitive gaming nationwide. Recognised by the PNG Sports Foundation and affiliated with the Global Esports Federation, it connects diverse gaming communities across the Pacific and Oceania. Bray noted esports is becoming a major source of entertainment and opportunity, inspiring PNG gamers to pursue excellence on the world stage. Membership registration with PNG Esports is free until Sept 30. Interested gamers are encouraged to join, participate in local tournaments, and vie for selection in future international competitions. With technology and gaming interest rising, PNG Esports sees the Oceania Qualifiers as a launchpad to elevate the country’s presence in global esports, while offering young players a pathway to professional competition and community engagement.
