В Галле обсудили включение уязвимых групп в национальный план борьбы с коррупцией

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL) conducted its second Civil Society Organisation (CSO) consultation in Galle under the first activity of the CFLI project, focusing on the Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Analysis of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP). The consultation brought together 19 participants representing a diverse range of communities, including ethnic and religious minorities, women and girls, rural and estate communities, older persons, youth, low-income communities, and digitally excluded groups. The discussion provided an important platform for participants to share their experiences, perspectives, and concerns regarding the implementation of the NACAP and its impact on diverse and marginalised communities. The consultation included representatives from Sesatha Association, Saviya (Galle), HNRDF (Galle), VOPP, J.W. Foundation, Centre for Youth and Social Development, and Dharani Swashakthi Foundation. Participants explored existing gaps and challenges that may prevent different groups from meaningfully benefiting from or engaging with anti-corruption measures. The consultation also highlighted the importance of ensuring that anti-corruption policies and implementation mechanisms are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs and lived realities of communities across Sri Lanka. The experiences and recommendations gathered during the consultation will contribute to the broader GEDSI analysis of the NACAP. The findings will help identify practical ways to strengthen the implementation of the NACAP so that it better reflects the needs of diverse and marginalized groups and promotes greater inclusion, responsiveness, and accessibility in Sri Lanka’s anti-corruption efforts.
