I still hold a grudge against someone from something that occurred 25+ years ago :D Montana wines said they'd send me a voucher in compensation for a defective product. They never did. I didn't purchase Montana or any wine bottled at 171 Pilkington Rd for over 20 years. That's not the case here. The discussion was 12 years old. The idiots contacted me recently with threats. I can imagine. I'm a moderator on another tech forum and we'll periodically have companies contact us about unfavourable, yet valid, opinions posted years ago. They ask us to take them down, we say no, and they start screeching. We do get the occasional threat too. From memory I purchased a 3 user MB lifetime premium package as recommended on this forum from Amazon for just $20 many years ago. Several months later we were offered a full refund from Amazon. Dodgy numbers? I never bothered and they all still activate and update almost daily a few Windows 11 laptops later. Should I be concerned? I don’t think so, from what I searched it seems they’ve fallen behind compared to other providers and might be why they’re doing damage control. But they’re still a valid AV for windows. I have lifetime licence as well and it has kept going over the years, had to convert it and register it to an account but still running. When i worked in the UK they contacted me once as the IT admin at my workplace. They advised we had a bunch of people using the free version and it was against their TOS, here is an invoice. I asked if they could name the machines it was installed on so I could go and remove it (if it was there) Didn't hear back after that. They just take a punt that you don't know yourself if or how many licenses and just pay a random invoice. If you run Linux you won’t need to say such a bad word.
