Добровольцы преобразили вокзалы Droitwich Spa и Kidderminster цветочными композициями

Droitwich Spa railway station has been given a colourful summer makeover thanks to the efforts of local volunteers. New floral displays have been installed at the station after funding was awarded through West Midlands Railway’s station adoption fund. The planting was carried out by Friends of Droitwich Spa, whose work includes projects aimed at improving the local environment and encouraging biodiversity. Droitwich Spa is one of two Worcestershire stations to benefit from new displays, with volunteers also carrying out planting at Kidderminster railway station. At Kidderminster, the work was undertaken by the Kidderminster Mainline Station Adoption Group, which is made up of ten volunteers from the Wyre Forest and District University of the Third Age. Station adopters volunteer their time to help look after and improve their local railway stations. Projects can range from gardening and painting to installing artwork and information boards. West Midlands Railway and sister operator London Northwestern Railway currently have more than 440 station adoption volunteers working across their network of 155 stations. Shantel Carty, community engagement manager at West Midlands Railway, said: “The new displays in Kidderminster and Droitwich are beautiful and really brighten up the two stations. “Our station adopters work really hard to make stations more welcoming for the local community and we hope passengers enjoy the flowers as they travel through.” West Midlands Railway operates services to destinations across the region, including routes through Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Snow Hill.
