В Дромооре скончалась Кэтрин Макголдрик, воспитавшая 15 детей и оставившая след в жизни общины

FAMILY was at the heart of Kathleen McGoldrick’s life, while her strong faith remained a constant throughout her years. Formerly of Cornamuck Houses in Dromore, Ms McGoldrick passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 31. An active member of the Dromore community, Ms McGoldrick was a devoted mother to 15 children and grandmother to her many grandchildren. Her love for her family and her deep faith were reflected in the words of celebrant Fr Denis Dolan, who paid tribute to the important place both held in her life. He described Ms McGoldrick as a woman of ‘great faith’ and recalled her daily devotion to the Rosary, which she prayed faithfully. She also attended daily Mass at St Davog’s Church and when she could no longer attend in person, she continued to follow Mass through the parish webcam. Ms McGoldrick had a keen interest in keeping up to date with current affairs and enjoyed reading the local newspapers. She also enjoyed baking and knitting and took great pleasure in these hobbies throughout her life. Following her passing, there has been a warm outpouring of sympathy from the Dromore community and beyond. Dromore GFC paid tribute to Kathleen and extended its sympathy to the McGoldrick family and Derrygonnelly Harps, reflecting the strong sporting connections within the family. Tributes from friends and neighbours also highlighted the affection in which she was held locally. One person remembered Kathleen as ‘one of the best neighbours to grow up with’, while another described her as ‘a lovely lady’. She is survived by her sons Mickey, John, Pat, Terry, Brendan, Kevin, Paul, Dermot and Raymond and her daughters Martina, Margaret, Kitty, Bridget and Noreen. She is predeceased by her husband Owen and her son Eugene. Following her Requiem Mass at St Davog’s Church, she was interred in the adjoining cemetery.
