Учительница Карол Дайкс удостоена звания «Педагог недели» в штате Теннесси

DENMARK, Tenn. (WBBJ) - Carol Dykes, who teaches first through third grade Montessori at Family Christian School in Denmark, has been named this week’s Educator of the Week, an award sponsored by the Tennessee Education Lottery. Dykes has spent about 20 years in the classroom, nine of those at Family Christian School. A calling rooted in her own educators “I’ve been teaching for nine years here at Family Christian School and overall about 20 years. I wanted to become a teacher because growing up I had some wonderful educators here in Jackson that really poured into me and made me want to excel in that area. And then I was blessed with four children of my own that I loved just teaching when they were little and watching them grow to have wonderful educators. So I ended up getting my degree and my master’s degree here in Jackson,” Dykes said. Dykes said her favorite part of teaching is watching her students progress. “My favorite part of teaching is watching the children progress and grow at their pace and get so excited when they reach their goals,” Dykes said. A peaceful, individualized approach Dykes said her teaching style centers on creating a safe space for each child to learn at their own speed. “I would say my unique style or approach is creating a peaceful environment where the children feel safe to learn at their own pace and just providing them the tools that they need on an individual basis,” Dykes said.
