AI-generated summary, reviewed by editors What makes the request innocent yet powerful is that it brings into light a larger issue of damaged roads and waterlogging. "DM Uncle, Road Banwa Dijiye" In the video, the girl can be heard making a straightforward request in Hindi: "DM uncle, mere ghar ki road banwa dijiye. Bahut bade-bade gaddhe hain, paani bhar jaata hai." She is essentially asking the district magistrate to repair the road outside her house because it has large potholes that fill with water after rain. “सुन लो DM अंकल जी… मेरे घर की सड़क बनवा दीजिए!” बाराबंकी की नन्ही बच्ची की गुहार—“बहुत बड़े-बड़े गड्ढे हैं, पानी भर जाता है… हम डूब गए थे।”@UPGovt#Barabanki #UPNews #DMUncle pic.twitter.com/OJR94GUTZQ The way she confidently addresses the district magistrate as "DM uncle" has made the clip particularly relatable for social media users. Viral Video Shows Road Full Of Potholes It seems that the girl is dressed in a school uniform when she makes the plea. In the background, it can be seen that there is an unhealthy state of the road with several potholes. There is water accumulation in the holes due to which the road seems unfit for traveling. Near the end of the video, the potholes have been focused on by the cameraman. The video has gained wide popularity on the social media network. Video Claimed To Be From Barabanki Based on the claims that accompany the video, the case took place in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. The social media users have tagged the official handles of the district administration of Barabanki and the district magistrate, asking the concerned authorities to take notice of the complaint made by the girl. However, the claims made along with the video need to be verified since they cannot be taken for granted. Social Media Users Ask Administration To Act The video has triggered a strong reaction online. Several users have urged the administration to address the road problem instead of allowing the damaged stretch to remain in the same condition. Some users also pointed out that potholes filled with water can become particularly dangerous for children, pedestrians, cyclists and two-wheeler riders. Others questioned why residents have to repeatedly highlight basic civic problems on social media before authorities take notice. Why The Little Girl's Appeal Has Struck A Chord What makes the video stand out is the girl's direct and innocent way of presenting the problem. Rather than making a complicated complaint, she simply explains what she sees every day large potholes and water collecting on the road - and asks the person she believes can solve the problem to help. Her appeal has turned an everyday civic issue into a conversation being watched by thousands of people online.
