Ассоциация стоматологических техников Нигерии объявила о борьбе с лицами, выдающими себя за специалистов

The Association of Dental Technologists of Nigeria (ADTN) has raised the alarm over individuals allegedly parading themselves as “Dental Surgery Technologists” and attempting to gain access to dental laboratories across Nigeria. The association described the development as unacceptable, warning that such activities violate the Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN) Act and its Code of Ethics. In a notice to members dated September 3, 2026, and signed by its National President, Dr Eyarefe Oghenekowhoro Stephen, the ADTN said it has observed an “increasing activities” of individuals using the title “Dental Surgery Technologists” and seeking to operate within dental laboratories. The association maintained that dental laboratory practice is exclusively reserved for registered dental technologists licensed by the DTRBN. According to the ADTN, “No other cadre is permitted to operate, manage, or take over functions within the dental laboratory.” The association consequently urged its members to remain vigilant and report suspected impersonators operating in or around their laboratories to their respective state chairmen and the DTRBN. It also warned members against admitting, training or collaborating with unregistered individuals in dental laboratory practice. The association further directed members to ensure that their laboratory registrations and practising licences remain valid and are conspicuously displayed. The ADTN said it would work with the DTRBN and other relevant agencies to take legal action against individuals allegedly impersonating dental technologists. It also warned that members found assisting or collaborating with such individuals could face action. “The leadership of ADTN, in collaboration with DTRBN and other relevant agencies, will not hesitate to take decisive legal action against any impersonator and any member found aiding them,” the association said. The ADTN urged members to protect what it described as the “dignity and integrity” of the dental technology profession.
