Благотворительный фонд Daybreak получил грант на строительство нового приюта для подростков в Дейтоне

The Miami Valley's only emergency youth shelter is planning a $1 million project at its Dayton campus. Daybreak, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting at-risk youth ages 10 to 24, has announced it received a $270,000 grant from the Lowe’s Community Impact Program toward the project. The funding will serve as the cornerstone of a $1 million renovation project for the organization’s Dayton campus. According to Chief Development Officer Tina Rezash Rogal, the first phase of renovations will create a new emergency shelter space for youth ages 10 to 17. “Our dream was going to cost us a million dollars. And so the fact that Lowe’s is giving us $270,000, that will be the cornerstone of this million-dollar project. We have enough to get phase one started so we can get our kids ages 10 to 17 into a brand new space designed specifically for them,” Rezash Rogal said. The long-term plan is to transform Daybreak’s current youth wing into a dedicated area for young parents and their children, further expanding the organization’s services. Daybreak was selected for the grant from among more than 5,000 applicants nationwide and is one of only 100 organizations to receive the award. Construction is scheduled to begin next week, with the first phase expected to be completed within a year. Daybreak is still seeking an additional $500,000 in funding to finish the full project and is encouraging support from community members and local foundations.
