Intoxicated man drives into Pigeon Creek, officials say Crews responded to a water rescue at Heidelbach Canoe Launch EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Police say an intoxicated man was arrested after he drove into Pigeon Creek. According to authorities, crews responded to the call of a water rescue around 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Pigeon Creek’s Heidelbach Canoe Launch. Officials say no one was in the car when they arrived but 26-year-old Akashdeep Singh was identified as the driver after he went to a nearby business drenched and covered in mud. According to the affidavit, the car did not drive into the water and stop, but continued going about 100 feet into the creek before it got stuck. The car was pulled out shortly after 4 p.m. and officers found two six packs of beer and a bottle of brandy inside. They say Singh blew a .242 BAC at nearly 20 minutes after the first 911 call. He was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond. Copyright 2026 WFIE. All rights reserved.
