В долине Роаринг Фок откроется новая частная христианская школа Alpine Christian High School

A new private Christian high school will open in the Roaring Fork Valley next fall.
Alpine Christian High School is set to open in August 2027 with the goal of a 20-student freshman class, Head of School Carrie Cobb said. A site for the school has yet to be determined, but leaders have a few sites in mind between south Glenwood Springs and Basalt.
She declined to say where the sites are due to contractual obligations. The school is looking at existing structures.
“Land and developing is not out of the question,” Cobb said, “but we would love to have a permanent home to launch.”
She said the goal is to fill a void for families wanting to send their children to a Christian school in the valley.
“It really is filling a need, I think, within our homeschool and our private school population, where they kind of haven’t felt like they’ve had their next step or their next home to go to, and so this would be that place,” she said.
Tuition will be around $28,000-30,000 per year, but Cobb is hoping for more donors to offer reduced tuition rates and scholarships.
Cobb, who grew up in Glenwood Springs and has worked in education for the last 27 years, said she has heard from parents whose children are homeschooled or in private schools who want a full education experience, including sports and extracurriculars. Some parents have looked to Vail Christian High School or similar schools in Denver, she said.
“Families are starting to send kids elsewhere, and we really want to keep the Roaring Fork Valley kids in the Roaring Fork Valley, and not make families have to choose between sending their kids to go live with a host family … or make the big move to Denver, where there are more Christian school options,” Cobb said.
The valley has a handful of private schools, but only one serves high school students (Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale) and only one has an affiliation with religion (St. Stephen Catholic School in Glenwood Springs).
The new school has created “a unique framework for our academics and our instructional program that’s really rigorous and engaging,” Cobb said. It will include advanced placement and dual enrollment classes.
Some teachers in the valley and on the Front Range have expressed interest in working with Alpine Christian, Cobb said. The school will begin hiring staff over the next year as it gears up for its fall 2027 opening.
The school’s founding board is hosting a launch night on Sept. 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Barn at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale for families to learn more.
