В телестудию KXAN в Остине присоединяется известный расследователь Энн Пьеррет

Central Texas TV station adds new Emmy-winning investigative reporter A Central Texas television news station is adding a new prominent journalist to its investigations team. New Mexico-based reporter, Ann Pierret, will soon be joining the airwaves of KXAN, the NBC-affiliate in Austin. KXAN's Director of Investigations and Innovation Josh Hinkle announced on social media that Pierret will be a part of the station's Emmy Award-winning investigative team. After five years, Pierret recently said goodbye to her position as an investigative reporter at KRQE News, a Fox-affiliated TV station based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "Having admired her work for years, we can't wait to collaborate with such a talented journalist," Hinkle wrote in an Instagram post. "Ann brings a wealth of experience and insight from our sister station in Albuquerque, and we're excited to see the impactful stories she will uncover here in Austin." In her own farewell post to New Mexico on Instagram, Pierret thanked the state for all the beautiful memories she gained there and chronicled her work covering underrepresented communities across the state. Last year, Pierret and her investigative team at KRQE won an Emmy for their news special on a DWI dismissal scandal, where police officers accepted bribes from defense attorneys to make their client's DWI cases disappear. "When I first started, I had a goal of getting out of Albuquerque and focusing on the often overlooked communities across the state," Pierret wrote. "I'm proud to say I did just that - from Santa Teresa to Roswell to Ruidoso to Clovis to Tucumcari to Santa Rosa to Santa Fe to Los Alamos to Taos to Farmington and Gallup. It's been an honor to meet so many of you and a privilege to tell your stories. Thank you for believing in me and the power of investigative journalism." It's unclear when Pierret will start her first day at KXAN, but MySA reached out to her and Hinkle for more information. KXAN Investigates is the largest investigative unit of award-winning journalists in Central Texas, according to its website. The team has won more than a dozen Lone Star Emmy awards for investigations on immigration, mysterious deaths, TxTag issues and more.
