$40K in meth found stashed in Paris-bound package at Dulles airport LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Border Patrol agents at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Virginia said they found more than four pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside a package headed for Paris. The shipment was intercepted July 10 while officers inspected a parcel sent from Utah County, Utah, labeled as containing a marble vase, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Instead, officers found two packages wrapped in black tape containing a crystalline substance. The drugs weighed about 1.87 kilograms, or just over four pounds, and have an estimated U.S. street value of about $40,000. "Intercepting illicit narcotics shipped through our ports of entry remains an enforcement priority for CBP," Area Port Director Christine Waugh said. No one has been arrested in connection with the drug seizure yet. CBP said its officers and agents seized an average of 1,598 pounds of drugs per day nationwide last year, including 465 pounds of meth.
