В выходные в Карубу пройдет второй ежегодный фестиваль ориентирования CROW

Cariboo Chilcotin Orienteering Club invites you to join them this Labour Day weekend Published 10:07 am Thursday, September 3, 2026 The Cariboo Chilcotin Orienteering Club is hosting its second annual edition of the Cariboo Regional Orienteering Weekend (CROW) on Saturday, Sept 5. and Sunday, Sept. 6. We invite all our friends in the club and anyone interested in trying a new outdoor experience to come out for a great orienteering weekend. We will have three race events including middle and longer distance races and a social fun event. All map areas are located in beautiful Cariboo grasslands and Douglas-fir forests. Come out and compete hard if you are experienced or if you are just new to the sport, take a more leisurely approach as you learn orienteering and map reading skills on the orienteering courses. We are also happy to confirm that the wildfire situation in the region has stabilized and settled down. Smoke has not been a major problem recently, and the weather forecast is looking favourable, with cooler temperatures and some rain expected to reduce the fire hazard. We are expecting great fall conditions for all our events! September is also a wonderful time to be outside in the Cariboo, making this a great reason to explore an exceptional corner of British Columbia and its natural wonders. Event schedule: - Saturday, Sept. 5 10 a.m. – Middle distance orienteering event at “Woodfrog Lake” north of Lac la Hache 5 p.m. – Sprint orienteering fun event at Lac La Hache Provincial Park campground (finish on the beach) 6:30 p.m. – Picnic with tacos on the beach of Lac La Hache Provincial Park - Sunday, Sept. 6 10 a.m. – Long distance orienteering event at 150 Mile House near Dugan Lake.
