Sara-Jayne Ferguson would tend to agree after test-driving the new model, with a particular eye to its appeal as a family car. She highlights the generous boot space and smooth drive of the Lepas L6, along with its good looks. "It feels very very premium, and it looks very premium with its smooth lines." The car has 435 litres of boot space, with an adjustable boot floor to provide more depth. Melinda Ferguson notes that Serbian designer Ivan Dulanovic was handpicked for Lepas after his work for Audi and Lamborghini, with the L6 grille giving an Audi feel. Both variants of the L6, the Javan and Pantera, are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 108 kW and 225 Nm. The claimed fuel consumption is an economical 7.2 litres/100 km. "The dial barely moved for the first four days, and I was driving a lot. So, I was impressed." Both models come in at under half a million - the Lepas L6 1.5T Javan sells for R479,900 and the L6 1.5T Pantera for R499,900.
