"A week or so ago, my(24F) boyfriend(24M) randomly texted me saying he had a surprise for me," she wrote online. "This was right after I showed him something I was thinking about buying, so at first I thought maybe he bought that for me. "To test it, I told him I was going to buy it, and he supported me buying it, so I figured the surprise was something else." She said he finally revealed the surprise one night by showing her a photo of a holiday house. "Fast forward to last night. We were sitting together eating dessert when he said again that he had a surprise for me," she added. "I asked him to show me, and after a few minutes, he showed me a picture of some random porch. That’s when I realised he had booked us a trip." She was immediately irritated because her boyfriend did not make sure she was available for the dates he booked. She said she already had a busy July, including a family holiday. "I told him, 'Please tell me you didn’t book us a trip in the middle of July,' because that is literally two weeks from now, and my family already has a trip planned around that time," she wrote. "He kept asking why, and I told him it’s because I already have plans with my family." The woman said her boyfriend was shocked by her reaction and told her he would just cancel the trip. "He immediately got annoyed and said he was cancelling it. I asked why he would book a trip without asking me first, especially because I have work, family plans, and other commitments," she wrote. "He said it was supposed to be a surprise." She started to question whether her boyfriend expected her to cancel all her plans due to the unexpected surprise, and if he had even booked the trip at all. "In my brain, it feels absurd to book a trip for someone without checking whether they can actually go," she wrote. "Now, I’m worried he either doesn’t believe I actually have a family trip, expects me to cancel on my family, or maybe didn’t actually book anything and was just trying to surprise me with the idea."
