Brunk Industries Expands Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, Operations
Metal forming company Brunk Industries plans to expand its operations in Freeport, Pennsylvania. The $31.7 million project is expected to create 64 jobs in Armstrong County.
The investment will include the construction of a new 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on 20 acres at the RIDC Armstrong Innovation Park.
“We’d like to thank the Shapiro Administration, Armstrong County and RIDC for their help with this project,” said Brunk Industries Vice President of Operations Scott Adams. “We chose to expand in Pennsylvania because of all the great things they have to offer – including the concentration of the tool and die industry in the area, and the quality of the workforce in the region. We look forward to being a mainstay in the Commonwealth for many years to come!”
To support the project, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) provided a funding proposal that includes a $4 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan and a $160,000 WEDnetPA grant for workforce training.
“Brunk Industries’ continued growth in Armstrong County is another example of why manufacturers are choosing Pennsylvania to invest, expand, and create jobs,” noted DCED Secretary Rick Siger. “Under Governor Shapiro’s leadership, we’re making strategic investments that help companies expand, strengthen our manufacturing sector, and create opportunities in communities across the Commonwealth. This expansion builds on the region’s manufacturing expertise, supports a rural economy, and advances our Economic Development Strategy by ensuring Pennsylvania remains a premier destination for business growth.”
Brunk Industries is a contract manufacturer specializing in micro-precision and light-gauge metal stamping, custom tooling, and complex component assembly for the medical device, aerospace, automotive, and defense industries.
“Our region has a strong connection to the advanced materials and precision metals industry, with both early-stage entrepreneurs and established companies like Brunk leading the way and creating new jobs in important regional growth industries,” added Regional Industrial Development Corporation (RIDC) President Donald F. Smith, Jr. “Armstrong County, and this Innovation Park in particular, combines pad-ready sites for large companies, ample power and other utilities, ease of transportation, and proximity to the city of Pittsburgh. The Commonwealth and the County are showing that Armstrong County is a great place to do business.”
