Джоуи Кинг готова вернуться в мир «Поезда быстрой езды» и раскрыть тайны происхождения принца

EXCLUSIVE: Joe King is ready to return to the chaotic world of the Brad Pitt-led Bullet Train. Adapted from Kōtarō Isaka's novel of the same name, the 2022 film starred Pitt as a mercenary, given the codename Ladybug, as he's hired to acquire a briefcase from a Japanese bullet train, only to become entangled in a dangerous web involving multiple criminals onboard that surrounds the briefcase. Helmed by David Leitch, Bullet Train scored mixed reviews from critics but was a solid box office performer, grossing over $239 million against its reported $90 million production budget. With the film largely wrapping up its various plotlines by the end of its 126-minute runtime, a Bullet Train sequel seemed largely off the table, particularly given most of its main cast were killed by the end. However, the movie's success has prompted the occasional rumor in the years since of a follow-up being developed for Pitt to return, though never anything concrete or official. Now, during an interview with ScreenRant's Ash Crossan for her work in Practical Magic 2, Joey King was asked her thoughts on any prior characters she'd like to reprise in the future. The Golden Globe and Emmy nominee immediately pointed to that of The Prince in Bullet Train, describing her experience on the action hit as being both "really fun" and "crazy." In response to her Practical Magic 2 co-star Maisie Williams' note that there is "so much more they could do there," King went on to agree that a Bullet Train prequel exploring Prince's origin story "would be fun," particularly given her character "died or got really mangled" in the first movie's ending "by that truck hitting me." Much to both King and Williams' points, Prince's origin story is one of the more under-explored and potential-filled plots from Bullet Train that would make for a fitting prequel. As she explained throughout the original film and by its ending, her motives for getting many of the characters onboard the titular locomotive was in an attempt to kill her father for his abandonment of her and focus on her drug-addicted brother, though largely kept the actual means of getting everyone together, and the neglect she previously faced, under wraps. Even if not to focus on The Prince, though, there are other Bullet Train characters who would similarly make for good options to get a prequel. The tight-knit dynamic between Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Tangerine and Brian Tyree Henry's Lemon has led many to hope for a spinoff exploring their origins growing up together in an orphanage to becoming the assassin duo known as The Twins. Ladybug's joke-heavy series of misfortunes has also sparked curiosity as to what his career looked like before the events of the original film. The other key possibility for Bullet Train to continue after the Pitt film became a hit is by going back to Isaka's source material and closer adapt his original Hitman novel trilogy. Though his closer novel The Mantis didn't feature any of the characters from Pitt's film, instead being loosely connected in the universe in the same way as many of Quentin Tarantino's films are loosely connected, Leitch or another filmmaker could find a way to pull it off for King or any of the other characters. Packing a stellar cast with the likes of Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Zazie Beetz, David Leitch's Bullet Train tells the story of an assassin for hire who bumps into multiple dangerous criminals aboard a high-speed Shinkansen trip from Tokyo to Kyoto. The 2022 action comedy is an adaptation of Kōtarō Isaka's novel "Maria Beetle". - Writers - Zak Olkewicz - Producers - Antoine Fuqua, Kelly McCormick - Main Genre - Action - Executive Producer(s) - Brent O'Connor, Ryosuke Saegusa - Studio(s) - Sony - Distributor(s) - Sony
