В Брентон-Паркер открыли новый учебный корпус по подготовке медсестер

BPCU dedicates new George W. Strickland, Jr. Nursing Education Building MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (WTOC) - Brewton-Parker Christian University (BPCU) celebrated a major milestone on Monday, Aug. 3, with the dedication of its new George W. Strickland, Jr. Nursing Education Building. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to meet the growing regional demand for healthcare workers. It features modern classrooms, advanced simulation laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, and hands-on clinical training environments that mirror real-world hospital settings. BPCU President Dr. Steve Echols expressed gratitude for partnerships with the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, the George W. Strickland, Jr. Foundation, and local and state officials who helped fully fund the project. “We are grateful for the wonderful partnership... so that BPCU could have such a quality facility that is fully equipped and fully funded,” Echols said. “The facility will greatly expand the capacity of the university to provide much-needed nursing graduates for the region.” First proposed in 2018, the School of Nursing welcomed its inaugural class in 2022. The program recently earned national accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and its first graduating class achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX licensing exam. The university expects up to 84 nursing majors this fall. The new facility is named in honor of George W. “Jack” Strickland, Jr., a prominent local businessman, veteran, and philanthropist whose legacy continues to support the community.
