Медсестра-практик Blessing Health System получила национальную сертификацию по пластической хирургии

Blessing nurse practitioner earns national plastic surgery certification Published 11:23 am Wednesday, September 2, 2026 QUINCY — Makenna Rathbun, a nurse practitioner in plastic surgery at Blessing Health System, has earned the Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse credential, a nationally recognized certification demonstrating advanced expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgical care. The credential is awarded by the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board and is supported by the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses. To qualify, candidates must hold an active registered nurse license, have at least two years of plastic surgery experience under the supervision of a board-certified plastic surgeon, complete a minimum of 1,000 practice hours, and meet additional certification requirements. The achievement is notable given the small number of nurses who hold the credential nationally. Only 176 nurses are currently certified by the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board and maintain that certification, according to Blessing Health System. For patients considering reconstructive or aesthetic plastic surgery services, having a nationally certified plastic surgical nurse practitioner on the care team offers an added level of assurance in the quality of care available locally, according to the health system. Rathbun joined Blessing Health System in 2019 and has held several roles within the organization, including positions in the outpatient laboratory, emergency department, and plastic surgery. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Maryville University in May 2025. Rathbun lives in Ewing, Missouri.
