We Tested and Loved These 7 RD-Approved Smoothie Delivery Services While making a smoothie sounds easy, a healthy and delicious blend requires some effort — you’ve got to choose the right mix of ingredients and strike the perfect balance of taste and nutrition. Jennifer House, RD, the founder of First Step Nutrition in Calgary, Alberta, recommends looking for smoothies with at least a few grams of protein, fiber, and lower sugar content. She suggests adding vegetables, protein, and seeds to boost nutrient density and satisfaction. If the prep work feels like too much rigmarole, smoothie delivery services can make it easy. From frozen kits you can blend yourself to ready-to-drink bottles delivered straight to your door, these services take the hassle out of making smoothies, while making it healthy and convenient. The right service can help you stay energized and satisfied throughout your day, so we rolled up our sleeves, pulled out our blenders, and tested more than a dozen popular options. From taste to convenience to nutritional value, our list highlights the very best, with input from registered dietitians to assess each option. Here are the smoothie delivery services we think might fit your lifestyle. Our Top Picks for Best Smoothie Delivery Services - Best Smoothie Delivery Service for Beginners: Revive Superfoods - Best Vegan Smoothie Delivery Service: Daily Harvest - Best Smoothie Delivery Service With Grocery Options: Hungryroot - Best Smoothie Delivery for Kids: Nurture Life - Best On-the-Go Smoothie Pouch: SaladPower Real Produce Pouch - Best Smoothie Flavor Variety: Splendid Spoon - Best Pre-Made Smoothie Delivery Service: Pressed Juicery Best for Beginners Revive Superfoods Pros - Convenient preportioned smoothies - Variety of flavor options - Reusable cups for easier cleanup - Easy to blend with simple instructions Cons - Some flavors contain artificial sweeteners - Requires freezer space to store preportioned smoothie cups For make-at-home smoothie newbies, Revive offers a variety of flavors without a lot of fuss. “What I love about Revive is that they’re made with simple ingredients and functional foods, like ground flaxseeds, hemp hearts, chia seeds, and maqui berries,” says Brenna Howsepian, RDN, CDCES, the founder of Howse Wellness, based in Sonoma County, California. “Flavors like Blueberry Raspberry and Raspberry Mango are approachable for beginners and allow for creativity, if you desire.” Smoothies arrive with frozen ingredients in cups, so all you have to do is add your favorite liquid base and the ingredients to a blender. “The smoothie cartons double as drink containers, making them perfect for enjoying on the go,” says Howsepian. You can order 7, 14, or 21 smoothies with weekly or monthly deliveries. The menu options don’t change, but you can always go to your account and adjust your preferences to mix up your flavors. Prices range from $6.99 to $8.99 per smoothie, depending on how many you order. Revive’s higher-protein smoothie options contain artificial sweeteners, which many people choose to avoid. Howsepian says you can add your own ingredients to make the lower-protein smoothies more nutrient-dense and satisfying. “Add one to two tablespoons of nut butter or half a small avocado and a protein powder before blending,” she suggests. We liked the Dragon Fruit Strawberry and the Cherry Acai, but added additional protein powder to make it more of a meal replacement. Best Vegan Smoothie Delivery Service Daily Harvest Pros - Wide range of vegan smoothie flavors - High-quality organic ingredients with no artificial additives - Can mix and match smoothies with other plant-based items Cons - Requires a subscription with a $50 minimum plus $9.99 shipping We loved the vibrant green Mint + Cacao, packed with antioxidant-rich cacao nibs and minty peppermint extract. Daily Harvest allows you to customize orders with a $50 minimum for weekly, biweekly, or monthly deliveries. They also offer additional plant-based foods to stock your freezer with quick and healthy options. “With Daily Harvest, you can also order other items like breakfast bowls, flatbreads, soups, and side dishes. A Daily Harvest box would be a great gift for someone postpartum or those in a busy season of life,” says Howsepian. While not the most expensive on our list, the minimum $50 order plus $9.99 shipping might be a drawback for some, but if you’re looking for convenient, plant-based smoothies, we think it’s worth the investment. Best Smoothie Delivery With Grocery Options Hungry Root Pros - Offers smoothies options plus grocery items - Premade smoothies available in grocery stores - Customizable meal plans - No added sugar Cons - Fewer smoothie flavor options Hungry Root offers a delivery service that includes smoothies, groceries, and meal-kit items for one-stop-shop convenience. Hungry Root Smoothies are ready to drink, so they don’t require additional blending, a big bonus for a busy schedule. One of the pluses of Hungry Root is that in addition to their smoothies, they also offer other brands, such as Rebbl or Owyn, two ready-to-drink smoothies you’d find at your neighborhood grocery store. The same reason we love Hungry Root for this category may be a downside for some who don’t need all the extras. The website can also feel a little overwhelming if all you’re looking for is smoothies. But if you want an all-in-one option to order meals, grocery items, smoothies, and snacks, Hungry Root is an excellent option. As for pricing, drinks start at $3.99, but vary based on other factors in your order. Best Smoothie Delivery for Kids Nurture Life Pros - Kid-friendly flavors and ingredients - Developed by registered dietitians - No added sugars - Also offers meals and snacks for kids Cons - Limited flavor variety - Low in protein Most of the smoothies on our list can be adapted for kiddos, but we love Nurture Life for smoothies specifically designed for your little one’s taste buds. Smoothies marketed to kids can be tricky because fun flavors often come with added sugar. “As a registered dietitian, I always encourage whole foods first with kids, but I love that we can bridge the gap with products like Nurture Life,” says Bourgeois. Nurture Life offers only five different flavor combinations, but most kids can find a favorite with fun options like Mango-Go, Straw-Melon, and Orange Dream. While light on protein, these smoothies offer a convenient way to sneak in extra fruits and veggies. “Nurture Life smoothies are free from added sugar and contain two full servings of fruit and veggies per bottle. Plus, they also provide important nutrients for kids, like folate, fiber, and vitamins C and A," says Bourgeois. Best On-the-Go Smoothie Pouch SaladPower Real Produce Pouch Pros - Veggie-forward smoothie - Easy to take on the go - Doesn’t require refrigeration until after opening - Low calorie - Thicker texture means more fiber  Cons - Only one flavor We love the SaladPower Real Produce Smoothie Pouch for anyone who wants to easily add more veggies to their diet, especially if they’re on the go. The veggies in this smoothie pack are 100% organic and include carrot, spinach, apple, kale, broccoli, and lemon. The smoothies only come in one veggie flavor, and are best served chilled right out of the pouch, with zero prep time required. Refrigeration is not required until you twist the cap off, though you’ll want to enjoy it the same day or the day after opening. At just 90 calories, it's a nutritional low-calorie snack that contains potassium, magnesium, and vitamins C, A, and K. You can also add it to a homemade smoothie for an added nutritional punch. Best Smoothie Flavor Variety Splendid Spoon Pros - Several flavor varieties to choose from - Clean ingredients - Flexible plan options - Each bottle is two servings - Safe to freeze for enjoying later Cons - Smoothies are not safe for those with peanut or tree nut allergies  Splendid Spoon’s smoothie delivery is our top pick for the service with the most variety. With over 15 delicious options to choose from, you can enjoy diverse flavors like Power Greens, Mint Chip, Cacao Almond, Blackberry Basil, and more. You can order a subscription box of 6, 12, or 18, and while you can order just smoothies if you like, Splendid Spoon also offers soups, healthy dishes, noodles, oats, juice shots, and a 5-day clean-eating detox plan. The smoothies come in a wide variety of flavors and calorie ranges, from lower-calorie, veggie-forward options to fruitier, sweeter blends. There’s even a creamy cold brew smoothie for those looking for an easy caffeinated pick-me-up. We also like that the smoothies are made without additives and that several contain no added sugar. Others, including Raspberry Cacao, Cacao Almond, and Power Greens, do contain added sugars, which the company says come from ingredients such as fruit juices and purees rather than syrups or cane sugar. Lebovitz notes that each smoothie contains two servings, “so drinking the whole bottle means doubling the nutrition numbers listed per serving. But whether half or the whole bottle makes sense depends on what you need in that moment,” she explains. “Several of these include nuts, seeds, avocado, or pea protein that make them much more substantial than your typical fruit smoothie,” says Lebovitz. Splendid Spoon is a subscription service that lets you have smoothies and other prepared meals delivered every one to four weeks. We appreciate the flexibility to skip deliveries or cancel your subscription if needed. The smoothies arrive pre-blended and ready to drink, either cold, frozen, or partially frozen. Refrigerate them when they arrive if you plan to drink them soon, or pop them in the freezer to save for later. Best Premade Smoothie Delivery Pressed Juicery Pros - Convenient ready-to-drink - High in protein and fiber - Vegan, kosher, gluten-free - No added sugar Cons - Some ingredients may cause digestive upset - High saturated fat content - Contains tree nuts Pressed Juicery takes convenience one step further with its bottled, premade smoothie options. Smoothies are made with all-natural, whole-food ingredients and contain no added sugars or artificial sweeteners. You can purchase one-time orders, or Pressed offers VIP pricing for recurring orders. With five flavor options, including Strawberry, Orange Mango, and Avocado Smoothies, we especially like the high-protein options like Chocolate Banana Protein, Dark Chocolate Protein, and Vanilla Protein, which offer a satisfying blend of 20 to 30 g of protein, fats and fiber. The Vanilla Protein was one of our favorites, with a subtle cinnamon flavor paired perfectly with the creamy vanilla base. Pressed is ideal for those who love smoothies but lack the time to make them. The bottles arrive cold and are easy to freeze for later use. Prices per smoothie start at $5.50, but can vary based on order minimums and membership status. Other Noteworthy Smoothie Delivery Services We Tried We tested and reviewed more than a dozen companies offering smoothie delivery services, but only a handful made it to our top picks. Here are some noteworthy ones we considered but ultimately didn't choose. - Factor offers a selection of healthy smoothies as add-ons to meals ($10.99 and $15.99 per meal). When we tested it, we appreciated the natural ingredients and the focus on health. It didn't make our list because the flavors were limited, and smoothies weren’t the focus. For more about Factor, check out our full review or visit Factor. - Sakara provides a premium food delivery experience, emphasizing organic, plant-based ingredients to support a healthy lifestyle. While we loved the commitment to high-quality ingredients and the holistic approach to wellness, the lack of flavor options and high prices ($13 a smoothie) was a roadblock. For more about Sakara, check out our full review or visit Sakara. How We Tested the Best Smoothie Delivery Services With so much misinformation available online about nutrition, we want to ensure you get credible and reliable recommendations. We reviewed more than a dozen smoothie delivery services for the following. - Taste No matter how healthy a smoothie is, it won’t be worth it if you don’t enjoy the flavor. - Nutrition We looked at ingredient lists and nutrition labels to find smoothies that deliver essential nutrients. - Additives We prioritized products with minimal added sugars, artificial sweeteners, colors, or other unnecessary additives. - Ease of Ordering and Delivery We analyzed everything from how simple it was to order and how efficiently the products arrived at your doorstep. I’m a registered dietitian with over a decade of experience working with people to improve their health. I also love making smoothies and regularly review smoothie and food delivery services. We also consulted three registered dietitians, each of whom brought a wealth of expertise in nutrition and meal planning: What Are the Benefits of Drinking Smoothies? Smoothies are a quick, easy way to fuel your body, especially when life gets busy. They’re also a fantastic way to pack more fruits and veggies into your day. “Smoothies are a great way to increase and diversify your daily nutrition,” says Howsepian. “Eating the rainbow holds power here ─ incorporating different colored fruits and vegetables provides different vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.” Smoothies can serve as either a meal or a snack but should always contain protein, fat, and high-fiber carbohydrates. If you plan to use a smoothie as a meal replacement, it should contain a comparable amount of calories to that of a meal. Everyone’s calorie needs differ, but a meal replacement should be at least 350 to 400 calories (and even more for many people). Combining high-fiber carbs with protein, fat, and fiber helps make your drink filling and nourishing. For example, adding spinach, nut butter, and chia seeds to your smoothie can create a satisfying blend packed with nutrients. Smoothies are also a practical option for people who struggle to eat big meals. “I often recommend smoothies to clients with busy schedules or those with low appetites,” adds Howsepian. “They tend to be easier to tolerate than a full solid meal.” What Are the Downsides of Smoothies? Smoothies can be a nutrient-dense option, but there are some downsides to consider. First, the ingredients can make or break their healthiness. Added sugars, syrups, or sweetened yogurts can quickly turn a healthy drink into more of a dessert. “Smoothies can help nourish our bodies, but they aren't designed to replace meals regularly,” explains Bourgeois. “Many smoothies are formulated to taste good, but that doesn't always translate to nutrient-dense.” Additionally, smoothies may leave you less satisfied if they aren't well-balanced. “Many fall short in nutrition and may not be as satiating as eating a full meal or snack, potentially leaving you hungry and frustrated,” adds Bourgeois. Without enough protein, fiber, or healthy fats, a smoothie might not keep you feeling full for long, leading to overeating or frequent snacking. How to Make a Healthy Smoothie Creating a healthy smoothie is all about balance. “I recommend clients start with one cup or less of fruit to ensure their smoothies are balanced nutritionally and to prevent hunger an hour or two afterward,” says Howsepian. Howsepian says to consider the following components when building a nutritious and satisfying smoothie: - Protein Add a source of protein such as Greek yogurt, protein powder (whey or plant-based), or hemp, chia, or flax seeds, and beans. - Healthy Fats Nut butter, avocado, and tahini. - Fiber Boost fiber with ingredients such as oats, chia seeds, ground flaxseeds, acacia fiber, or fresh greens. - Fruit Stick to one cup or less of fruit such as berries, bananas, apples, pineapple, papaya, or mango to add natural sweetness. - Liquid Use dairy, non-dairy, water, or coconut water to achieve your desired consistency. - Optional Add-Ons Customize your smoothie with extras like cacao powder, cinnamon, turmeric, or spirulina for added nutrients or flavor. This combination of ingredients ensures your smoothie supports your nutrition goals while keeping you energized and satisfied throughout the day.
