В округе Белл участились sightings койотов: советы по защите домашних животных и людей

Coyotes Being Spotted More Frequently Throughout Bell County Over the summer, I’ve realized that a lot of wildlife has really made an impact in Central Texas. I’m talking alligators, bobcats, panthers, and even Bigfoot! Central Texas has been a very popular area for wildlife sightings recently. What Does Central Texas Need To Say? When I speak with residents in the area, I always want them to be able to voice their concerns with me because, at the end of the day, that’s my job. I want to make sure I get out the information they feel like isn’t being heard. Their voices matter and count to me just as much as anybody else’s. So, when I spoke with a couple of residents whose concern was the frequent sightings of coyotes, I knew I had to let Central Texas know. Are Coyotes Harmful? Now, coyotes are not necessarily dangerous to humans, but if you have small pets, livestock, backyard animals, or even small children, they could potentially be at risk. Not to mention, even though coyotes don’t usually bother grown adults, they can still carry diseases such as rabies. It’s not common, but it’s still something you should be aware of. I’ve lived in Texas for a very long time, and I’ve seen my fair share of woodland creatures, including coyotes, so they’re definitely out there. Don’t think that they’re not! How Bell County Residents Can Protect Pets and Themselves Amid Rising Coyote Sightings What I do know from seeing and experiencing coyotes before is that if you find yourself in front of one and it approaches you instead of running away, follows you, continues coming to your home during the daytime, doesn’t respond to you yelling or attempts to scare it away, or appears sick or unusually aggressive, do not run. Instead, make sure you yell and clap, make yourself appear larger, and slowly back away while keeping the animal in sight. It’s definitely better to be safe than sorry!
