The partnership aims to address the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by making routine medical check-ups more accessible and affordable for Barbadians, particularly the uninsured. Designed as a proactive wellness baseline, Bayview Urgent Care’s basic medical package aligns with the hospital’s mandate to provide routine diagnostic screenings before patients become ill. “We are thrilled to partner with Rubis to bring this initiative to life,” said Dr. David Byer, Bayview Urgent Care Lead Consultant. “In the urgent care department, we see firsthand how critical timely intervention is. By offering these basic medical packages to Rubis customers, we are encouraging Barbadians to take a proactive approach to their wellbeing. Early detection is the greatest tool in the fight against chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. Together, we are helping to make a real impact.” By integrating these vital screening packages into the Rubis corporate and retail network, both organisations are working to remove the financial barriers that often cause individuals to delay essential medical check-ups. For Rubis, this initiative represents a natural extension of its dedication to the local communities it serves. “At Rubis, our commitment to the communities we serve goes far beyond providing premium fuel,” said Andrea Gooding, marketing manager at Rubis. “Corporate social responsibility is at the heart of our operations, and we are continually seeking meaningful ways to support our customers’ wellbeing. Partnering with Bayview Urgent Care allows us to provide life-saving value to our RubisCard holders and the average customer walking through our doors. We want to empower our drivers to prioritise their personal health, ensuring they are fueled for a healthy journey ahead.” The collaboration also highlights a broader, shared vision to make high-quality private healthcare economically viable for a wider cross-section of the Barbadian public.
