Digital-first entertainment company Pocket Aces, which continues to strengthen Saregama’s digital entertainment ecosystem, has achieved its breakeven. Saregama India, a RPSG Group company, acquired Pocket Aces in 2023. “With Pocket Aces achieving breakeven during the year, our short-format and digital series business is expected to deliver healthy growth in the years ahead,” Saregama said in its annual report for 2025-26, released on Monday. In the report, the country’s oldest music label and leading IP driven entertainment company said Pocket Aces continues to strengthen its digital entertainment ecosystem through its presence in creator management, digital content production, branded content and influencer marketing, complementing the company’s long-term strategy of expanding its content and intellectual property portfolio. “During the financial year under review (FY26), the company further strengthened its investment in Pocket Aces, one of India’s leading digital-first entertainment companies,” it said. During the last fiscal, Pocket Aces, currently a subsidiary of the company, acquired 100 per cent of the equity share capital of Finnet. Finnet is engaged in influencer marketing, creator management and social media marketing. The acquisition strengthens the Group’s presence in the rapidly expanding creator economy and enhances its digital content and creator-led business capabilities. Avarna Jain, Vice Chairperson, Saregama India, said the company’s evolution into an entertainment flywheel has been a deliberate journey over the past several years. “We have expanded our presence across Artiste Management, Live Events and Video content. As these businesses have grown, they have become increasingly interconnected, creating stronger links between content creation, talent development, audience engagement, and monetisation.” According to Jain, India’s media and entertainment industry continues to benefit from rising digital consumption, expanding internet access, and changing audience behaviour. “Consumers today engage with content across multiple formats, platforms, and touchpoints. In such an environment, long-term success requires more than the ownership of content. It requires the ability to build direct audience relationships, create recurring engagement opportunities, and extend intellectual property across formats,” she added. A significant game-changing milestone in the last financial year was the company’s strategic investment in Bhansali Productions. “This structure, which will see us take a 28 per cent to 49.9 per cent stake, is funded entirely through our internal accruals (with an initial payment of ₹325 crore) and is tied directly to their future financial performance. More importantly, this partnership secures an exclusive, pre-agreed pipeline for marquee Hindi film music,” Managing Director Vikram Mehra said, adding this represents around 30 per cent to 40 per cent of Saregama’s future Hindi film music acquisitions, effectively insulating the company from unpredictable competitive bidding wars and securing some of the best music in the industry at predictable costs.
