From the Aug. 14, 1988 News Record:Jim Anderson is a little testy about the continued criticism of the Heritage Center — the $4.4 million theater-fine arts center under construction at Cam-plex. Thought the facility is only a few months away from completion, some candidates for county commissioner have attacked the project. Anderson is chairman of the Public Land Board which decided to build the theater center — the last facility planned for Phase One of Cam-plex — despite the slumping economy and criticism that the facility did not have broad public support. At a Public Land Board meeting, Anderson noted that the Heritage Center is the only facility at Cam-plex that has received private and corporate donations.
