Мастер-сантехник из Нью-Браунфелса использует TikTok для популяризации профессии и запускает собственный бизнес

David Williams has been in the plumbing industry for more than 13 years. What started as a summer job at age 16 turned into a career, and now, Williams is using his experience as a master plumber and owner of his own business, Plunger Pros, and his platform as an online content creator to teach people about plumbing and encourage young people to pursue the trades. Williams started Plunger Pros in 2024, but he said that having his own business was his goal from the very beginning of his plumbing journey. The business is based in New Braunfels and includes Williams along with two other plumbers. Several years before he started his own business, Williams said he would post videos of his daily jobs on his Snapchat story, and after a friend reached out and suggested that he post on other platforms, Williams began posting more regularly. “At that point, I started posting videos of the work I was doing and different things I was seeing to TikTok, and once that started growing and taking off, I decided to post other places too,” Williams said. Williams posts online as The Plumber’s Plunger and makes posts that are brief tutorials for minor fixes that can be done by homeowners as well as spotlight posts for the trades. “I’ve actually gotten quite a few messages from people who are graduating high school and have questions about how to get into the trade,” Williams said. Williams said that his posts have exposed his business to many customers in the New Braunfels area, and the extra income from his social media is what gave him the confidence to start his own business. He encourages anyone that is curious about the trades to consider pursuing a trade career. “If there is someone out there that is wanting to enter the trades, just know that you can make a good living, and if you enjoy working with your hands, it’s a good job to be able to get into,” Williams said.
