Марк Сак назначен председателем совета по кампании сборов на Израиль в Кливленде

Mark Sack has been appointed as the chair of the Israel Bonds Cleveland Campaign Advisory Council, taking over for Rabbi Rosette “Rosie” Barron Haim, who died in May. The announcement was made on Sept. 8. “I am deeply honored to step into this role as Cleveland’s Campaign Chair for Israel Bonds,” Sack, who will serve a two-year term, said in a news release. “Before her passing, Rabbi Rosie, of blessed memory, and I shared meaningful conversations about the vital role Israel Bonds plays in strengthening Israel’s economy. I am grateful for the opportunity to carry that legacy forward and to support the people of Israel during these challenging times.” Sack is a longtime investor in Israel Bonds, according to the release, and he previously served as its New Leadership Division co-chair in the early 1990s, and has been a member of the Cleveland Campaign Advisory Council since 2023. Sack and his late wife, Aviv, received the Israel Bonds King David Award for their extensive dedication to the state of Israel and the local Jewish community in 2015. Sack served in the Israel Defense Forces and played professional basketball in Israel in the 1980s before returning to Cleveland, his hometown, to teach social studies and the Lessons of the Holocaust course at Cleveland Heights High School, where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in 2025. He has worked part time at Meyers, Roman, Friedberg & Lewis, a Woodmere-based law firm, since 2013, where he is of counsel, and he recently helped led the expansion of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces in southern Ohio and continues to be active in other civic, community, and Israel-related volunteerism. Since its founding more than seven decades ago, Development Corporation for Israel – known as Israel Bonds – and its affiliates around the world have generated over $57 billion in investments worldwide, according to the release. With strong rates and deep symbolic meaning, Israel bonds provide a powerful way to strengthen Israel’s economy and maintain a personal connection to the Jewish state and the people.
