Оригинальный контент
With the recent contract extension through September 2027, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) has had the privilege of serving the nation as the Management and Operating contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site for nearly two decades. During the last 18 years, SRNS has supported the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration in well-positioning SRS to address our country’s challenges in national security, clean energy and environmental stewardship.
High standards, performance excellence and a production mindset have not only contributed to national security through deterrence, but have also led to new missions brought to SRS and significant investment for our surrounding communities.
SRNS’ success starts and ends with our most important asset — our 7,000 strong workforce. Our employees have proven to be highly adaptable and agile, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in meeting the needs of the nation with a sense of urgency.
Since 2008, SRNS has achieved 100% mission delivery of tritium to the Department of War; modernized major processing, safety and security systems replacing Cold War technologies; deactivated and decommissioned 90 industrial structures and remediated numerous soils and groundwater waste units, achieving more than an 85% reduction in the site’s operational footprint.
SRNS has completed nearly 1,000 shipments of transuranic waste, shipping 6,565 cubic meters to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico and downblended and shipped more than a metric ton of non-weapons grade plutonium from the state of South Carolina for permanent disposal. We are also very proud of our work to advance construction of the Savannah River Pit Production Facility and develop the necessary training programs for future workers.
SRNS continues to invest in the current and future workforce for SRS, implementing effective apprenticeship and internship programs, offering competitive salaries and benefits and programs to attract and retain the best and brightest in the region.
Finally, SRNS has contributed millions to surrounding communities through corporate philanthropy and the generous donations by our employees. SRNS employee volunteerism is unprecedented and our robust education outreach program has impacted nearly 1 million students and educators.
I have just passed the one-year mark as president and CEO of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, a job that excites, challenges and energizes me every day. My predecessors over the past 18 years have provided exemplary leadership and this responsibility is not one I take lightly. I look forward to leading SRNS as we finish strong with a powerful, lasting legacy at SRS; one in which we all take great pride in working closely with our NNSA and DOE counterparts to maintain a safe, secure and disciplined work environment in all aspects of our important missions to make the world safer.
