В Нью-Холланде пройдет ежегодный фестиваль скрипачей с бесплатным пикником и концертами

New Holland will celebrate the unofficial end of summer on Monday with a picnic that brings out new and seasoned fiddle players alike. The annual Fiddlers Picnic, which started in 1988, returns from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7. Admission to the event is free. Sue Noll, the secretary and treasurer of the New Holland Summer Arts Association, says she expects to see around 800 people visit the New Holland Community Park, 400 E. Jackson St., Monday. The nonprofit art association hosts free summertime concerts in the park, as well as the picnic and an arts and crafts fair. "We have seen more younger people the last few years that are learning guitar, fiddle or banjo," Noll says in an email to LNP|LancasterOnline. "The older folks love to take them under their wing and have them join in." Those who visit are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating. Many people come early to pick spots, Noll says. In addition to people being encouraged to bring their own instruments and play, there will be a performance from the Jeff Dillard Bluegrass Band and the Summit Hill Bluegrass Band. There will be plenty of food and drinks on site from the New Holland Lions Club, including ham sandwiches, barbecue chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs. There will also be french fries and ice cream. "Whether you are a professional or novice string instrument player, this is a great opportunity to come out and play or just listen to some great music," Noll says.
