Светлана Нак умерла в Кливленде в возрасте 88 лет

Svetlana Naku passed away on July 2, 2026. She was 88 years old. Svetlana was born in Gomel, Belarus on Jan. 29, 1938. Her parents were Pavel and Faina Krasilschikov. She is survived by two siblings, Zhanna (Max, deceased) Shulman of Cleveland and Igor (Ella) Krasilschikov of Israel. Like so many Soviet families of her generation, the young family survived the war years by being relocated to the interior of the Soviet Union. In their case, their family survived those difficult years in the Siberian cities of Omsk and Tomsk. Svetlana was always known for her sharp mind and was an accomplished physician in the Soviet Union where she worked as a radiologist. Svetlana met her husband Aleksey at a family wedding in Minsk. The two were married in 1973 and had a son named Dmitriy. The family left the newly dissolved USSR in 1992 to start a new life in Cleveland. In middle age, Svetlana had to begin a new life in a new country. Once again, she focused her acute mind towards learning English. She was always an avid Russian reader, but also became a voracious English language reader after her arrival. Svetlana began a new career in the United States, where she became a valued member of the team at the Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland where she worked as a case manager. She assisted countless people in her new position. She applied her determination and networking skills to help many people in her role there. A funeral was held on July 6 at Cleveland Jewish Funerals, followed by burial at Mount Sinai Cemetery in Mayfield Village.
